Early in April, Faith Lutheran Church lived its first Triduum, the three holy days of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil.
The Triduum is the primary, night-long celebration of Jesus's resurrection, held after sunset on Holy Saturday. As the "mother of all vigils," it signifies the transition from darkness to light and death to life. It consists of four parts: Service of Light, Readings, Baptismal Liturgy, and Eucharist.
As Benedicta Ward, SLG, writes in In the Company of Christ: a pilgrimage through Holy Week,
In this Easter season, the Good News of the resurrection resounds throughout earth and heaven.
Let us rejoice that we are forever part of this dynamic procession of love and that death is no more.
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Peace,
Intern Pastor Meg
